This study compared the variability of six currently used semiautomatic software packages in determining the volume of CT lung nodules that is the smallest change necessary to detect increased lung nodules. The study was approved by Ethics Committee. To simulate a zero-growth follow-up examination, two low-dose non-contrast CT scans of 20 patients with lung metastases were performed. Check the patient between the upper and lower bed. Six nodular assessment packages were evaluated for 2 examinations of all lung nodules volumes. Variability of segmentation points (upper 95% CI of Bland-Altman plots) was calculated to be sufficient to distinguish nodule visually visible changes. 214 nodules were evaluated (average diameter 10.9 mm, range 3.3 to 30 mm).
