This paper describes a single crystal growth furnace that combines a zone melting method with a Bridgman method for growing naphthalene (Naphthalenc) single crystals 1-1.3 cm in diameter and 15 cm in length for ultrasound studies. The crystal growth furnace has the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation and ready observation of the growth of single crystal in the furnace.The effects of the shape of the crystal container on the growth of single crystal are discussed, and the experiment of vapor phase growth of naphthalene single crystal sheet is also briefly introduced Naphthalene is a relatively soft single crystal, so the grinding and polishing methods mentioned here may be of reference for the preparation of other soft single crystals (also suitable for acoustic measurements).
