自西画与西方人的艺术教育引入中国之后,“中国画”苦难深重!何为国画,已成难题,但水墨纸这三者的组合,大约可以概括当代人对于中国画的起码的共识。水性灵,易渗而化之;墨性顺,随水而有浓淡;纸性朴,得水则润,受墨则染。水墨纸三者各有其韵,各有其质,得其质则画意深,得其韵则画意华。纸本水墨,轻于造型写意,而以合水墨纸三者之质而得其韵为旨。能得其旨,则不失为国画发展之另一蹊径。但能得其韵者少而就其轻者众,纸本水墨遂为崇古者所讥。
