Introduction In the western United States, many low-grade gold and silver mines and previously harvested tailings materials are potential sources of precious metals. These mineral sources are too low or too small in size to be worth the money to invest in cyanidation plants. Therefore, the development of low-cost extraction of precious metals method becomes very necessary.
