The double-row hob cutter studied in this paper is a new type of gear cutting tool. It has the advantages of simple structure, high cutting efficiency and long service life. This new tool is perfectly suited for machining both internal and external gears with smaller modules and larger numbers of teeth. This article introduces the design theory and test results of double row hob cutter.
