OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the functional activity of the brain at rest in patients with acute carbon monoxide poisoning (ACMP) using the low frequency amplitude (ALFF) method. Methods: FMRI was used to observe the changes of ALFF in cerebral blood oxygen level-dependent signal (BOLD) in patients with ACMP. BOLD data of 12 ACMP patients and 14 controls were collected. ALFF algorithm was used to analyze the data of each subject Using two independent samples t-test, P <0.05, t> 2.05 as a threshold, showing ACMP group relative to the control group ALFF increased and decreased area. Results: Compared with the control group, ALMP in the left lingual gyrus (-12, -90, -3) and the right inferior temporal gyrus (57, -66, -15) were significantly increased in the ACMP group. CONCLUSIONS: ACMP patients show abnormal brain activity at rest, and these abnormal activities may be related to the occurrence of delayed encephalopathy (DE).
