当代学者大都认为工笔画概念是由民国时期的金城提出的。所谓“工笔”是针对西画而言的。当代工笔画的发展呈现出了多样化的发展路径,但大致可以划分为两种脉络:一脉为传承传统文艺精髓进行革新;另一脉则借鉴东方艺术风格样式、西方现代主义、后现代主义思想与风格样式进行探索性实验。多元化的发展路径虽然一方面体现出当代艺术发展的开放性,但另一方面,亦暴露出一个重要的问题,即其在发展道路上缺乏一个鲜明的立场原则。我认为,当代中国工笔画应继承传统文化精髓,这是工笔画发展的根基。因此,相关工笔画家
