高行健的一些戏剧会设置一个不参与剧中人物对话的角色,他们在各自剧中只有动作和表情。这些角色游离于剧情之外但又贯穿整部戏始终,和其他角色一起构成戏剧不可或缺的一环。“沉默的人”的角色设置是高行健戏剧艺术上匠心独具的探索。这类角色以直观具象的动作和表情表达人物内心情感、抽象哲思。客观上造成一种复调效果,开拓了戏剧多层的主题意蕴,丰富了戏剧的艺术表现力。
Some of Gao Xingjian’s plays will set a character who does not participate in the character dialogue, and they have only action and expression in their respective plays.
