《所罗门之歌》在第三人称全知叙述回顾性视角下,叙述者其间让众多人物麦肯、露丝、派拉特、塞丝、吉他等不同的人物来叙述他们的故事,叙述的对象直接或间接与奶娃有关,奶娃更多的是被置于倾听的位置,穿行其间,像孩子像学生对他们叙述的可靠性进行判断、认识,思想不断升华,逐步走向成熟。文本通过人物的视角,叙述者赋予人物不同的声音,增加读者判断的维度;文本中一些看似超自然现象出自人物的视角,叙述者的叙事策略消解了所谓的魔幻色彩,展示了人物的内心变化和生存方式。文本讲述两个故事:叙述者叙述的故事和叙述者自身的故事,这一叙述策略回答了奶娃的生死问题,旨在让黑人青年一代倾听黑人的历史追寻他们的历史,传承黑人文化,实现黑人民族心灵的飞翔。
