罗忠福眼光好1995年底有人估计罗忠福资产近10亿,排名第六。此前美国《福布斯》1994、1995连续两年,将其列为中国大陆首富。1997年9月前后,国内有几家报刊,详尽地介绍了罗忠福先生的最新动向:将掀起建材革命,相继专文介绍他的新项目:被称为“可口可乐型的事业”的一种新型建筑装饰材料。罗忠福先生与荣智健家世有点相似:荣德生、荣毅仁、荣智健三代都堪称中国商界奇才;罗忠福与父亲、祖父三代都是名震一方的商会会长。他们均传袭了先辈经商的传统与智慧,而并没有继承钱财物业。湖南去深圳打工的外来仔吴志剑已成深圳商界巨无霸;贵州来珠海发展的异乡客罗忠福竟当上了珠海总商会会长,那些曾瞧不起他们的广东本地佬现在该彻底服了。也许在不远的将来,千千万万从外地涌入广东的打工仔、打工妹中,还会涌现出象吴志剑、罗忠福这样的传奇人物来。
