Beijing may be China’s most culturally vibrant city, but Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are emerging as stars in southern China. “Guangzhou Contemporary Art Triennial ” is generally regarded as China’s most important art activity; UNESCO recently identified Shenzhen - the richest city in China - as one of the 16 “creative cities” in the world While Hong Kong lifted its cultural atmosphere with a variety of notable festivals and creative activities. Last year, the Hong Kong government approved a budget of 21.6 billion Hong Kong dollars (US $ 2.7 billion) to develop a 40-hectare wasteland in West Kowloon into a cultural area and museums, exhibition venues and performing arts venues. If this force is used correctly, the project could make Hong Kong a firm place on the global art scene.
