After the Chernobyl nuclear accident, there were about 300,000 soldiers participating in the accident rescue. This article describes the task of Ukraine’s 2008 Military Hospital to rescue and treat the casualty of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The three phases of medical rescue are introduced, such as time division, task focus, input of troops and their structure. The establishment of specialized departments within the hospital was introduced. The analysis of the health status of 594 injured patients with doses from 0,05 to 0,05 Gy showed that the incidence of hematological changes increased with the increase of the doses. The main contents of the research on physicians participating in the treatment are introduced, and the long-term effects of low dose radiation on the cardiovascular system and the gastrointestinal tract are considered. According to the experience of medical treatment, the problems existing in the medical treatment are analyzed.
