1983年,有关部门和专家们为广州市白云山风景区被“蚕食”一事向社会呼吁,引起了省市领导和有关单位的重视,并采取措施制止或补救,颇见成效。近年来,珠江广州河道也逐渐被“蚕食”,但未能引起省市领导和有关单位的重视,占用河道河滩的情况还在发展。有的新建宾馆、工厂、住宅,有的扩建码头、仓库。少的占河道几千平米,多的达几十万平米。这种情况,若不制止,后患无穷。
