K 3Na(SO 4) 2 has been prepared by using reported method in literature.We have measured the dissolution enthalpies of the reactants Na 2SO 4(s)+K 2SO 4(s) and the product K 3Na(SO 4) 2 disolved in water at 298.2K by a self made thermostated calorimeter,thus obtained the standard formation enthalpy of K 3Na(SO 4) 2(s):Δ f H m,298.2K =-2855.83kJ·mol -1 .It is about half as much as that of Na 2SO 4·3K 2SO 4:Δ f H m,298.2K =-5709.24kJ·mol -1 reported previously.We assess that K 3Na(SO 4) 2 is of simplest formula as Na 2SO 4·3K 2SO 4.The result is of benifit to study the problem whether K 3Na(SO 4) 2 and Na 2SO 4·3K 2SO 4 are same complex salt.
