Qinghai Province, located in the northeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is a multi-earthquake area in China. Although there have not been eight major earthquakes in the history of the area, strong earthquakes are more frequent. Especially in recent years, the number of strong earthquakes M≥6 occurred in five years from 1981 to 1986, of which three were 6.4-6.8, which were obviously higher than those in the neighboring provinces such as Gansu and Sichuan provinces. In addition, seismic activities in Qinghai Province are generally considered to be in a period of calm throughout the country, but they also often indicate the upsurge of national activities. For example, shortly after the July 7th strong earthquake of 1967 and twice in Qinghai Province in 1963, the entire country immediately entered the period of a major earthquake. Whether such seismological activity in the inter-provincial area is still uniquely rhythmic is very much necessary for the study.
