高国良撰文说:预测性新闻在大众传播的媒介上,是一个不可缺少的品种。这种新闻在西方世界颇为流行。在我们的报纸上,预测性新闻也不是可有可无的。对待它不可不加分辨地加以“抑制”。它对实际工作的指导作用,大而言之,在党和政府决断有关方针大计时,有可能发挥特殊的功能。小而言之,可以帮助人们通过对未来趋势的分析,来安排自己的行动。譬如说如果没有经济预测,经济信息就不全面,对经济工作的指导就会片面性。

For example, without economic forecasting, economic information is not comprehensive and guidance on economic work will be one-sided.
