山东潍城“校校通”工程采用无线网络方案,这比用光纤、租用线等技术实现的城域网每个节点在初期建设上就实现了节省数千元。在网络实际运行中,由于没有其他的租用线路的开销,使得整个网络几乎以零成本运行,减轻了学校经济上的负担。需求连接百所校园目前,潍城区已经拥有普通教育、职业教育、教师进修学校等各类教育机构百余所,在校学生五万余人。
