This article describes the development of gated gate flow tubes and the observed characteristics of these tubes. Grounded Gate Thyristor is a variant of the thyristor used in low impedance systems. These tubes work with a control grid as a negative electrode and a hot cathode as a trigger. The main current pulse is transmitted by the metal vapor arc between the gate and the anode. This working condition allows the tube to deliver tens of thousands of amps of peak current with an inductance of about 15 nanometers. These tubes are mainly used in spark chamber and pulsed NUV lasers.
