Ancient Armenian texts are of great value for the study of Mongolian history. Some Armenian historians have written about the Mongols and their conquests in Russian and Western languages as early as the last century. Among these works are works by George Arknezir (Maccagyar), Grand Vardan and Mchtrzar Erivanjee, and works by Stepanos
