无论在圈内还是圈外,大家都一致称赞说,仲星火是一个适应性很强、戏路很宽的优秀演员。他不仅工、农、兵、干部、民警、知识分子样样都能演,而且难度很大的喜剧人物、反派角色也同样演的活灵活现,用普通百姓的话说,是“演什么像什么。”而不为广大观众所知的,仲星火还具有上佳的口才。1981年,仲星火在《天云山传奇》中扮演了一个重要的反面角色吴遥。在北京举行的招待各国记者座谈会上放映该片之后,一位国外记者向仲星火提问:“仲先生,请问如果现在你扮演你们中央的领导,你愿意演那些人?不愿意演那些人?”仲星火机智地回答道:“作为一个演员,我任何角色都愿意尝试。”国外记者尴尬地说:“谢谢,你完全可以成为一个出色的外交家！”
