江苏省江都市地处长江北岸,属苏北平原水网地带,总面积1332平方公里。全市现辖23个建制镇,310个行政村,总人口107万。全市有51个医疗卫生机构,其中乡镇卫生院41家,卫生技术人员3525名;有村卫生室353个,乡村医生960名。近几年来,江都的卫生事业与其它社会事业一样,得到了全面发展,先后被评为江苏省卫生城市、农村中医工作先进市,初级卫生保健先进市、自来水普及市,并有一批医疗卫生单位和卫生工作者获得省级和全国表彰。江都的卫生事业正全面步入建设小康社会的跨越跃式发展和巨变的新时期。
Jiangdu City, Jiangsu Province is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River and belongs to the water network zone of the northern Jiangsu Plain. The total area is 1,332 square kilometers. The city currently governs 23 established towns and 310 administrative villages with a total population of 1.07 million. The city has 51 medical and health institutions, including 41 township health centers, 3,525 health technicians, 353 village clinics, and 960 rural doctors. In recent years, Jiangdu’s health undertakings have been fully developed in the same way as other social undertakings. They have successively been awarded the title of Jiangsu Sanitary City, Advanced Rural Chinese Medicine Work, Advanced Primary Health Care City, Tap Water City, and a batch of medical and health units. And health workers received provincial and national awards. Jiangdu’s health undertakings are fully entering a new era of leap-forward development and great changes in building a well-to-do society.
