RAID is a hot topic among those who hold the heavy responsibility of maintaining critical servers. One of the rarest but most promising ways to create RAID today is to take advantage of the software approach implemented through the Linux kernel. Software RAID is coming to us in big strides and is likely to be the best choice for this area as it not only delivers great performance at a low cost, but adds even more to it.
