随着数据处理速度的不断提高,对输入输出设备的要求也越来越高。把要输出的数据传送给人,大部分仍旧通过印刷纸来进行。因此,不论现在还是将来,印刷机都是非常重要的。到目前为止,机械式打印机的最高输出速度为2000行/分,每行有132位到160位。尽管有这样高的印刷速度,但是在大型系统里只有一台打印机并不总是达到所需要的输出速度,因此常常需要几台机械式快速打印机并行操作。为了保证这种复杂的、要求高的机械式打印机可靠地操作,需要有相应费用的仔细保养和维护。
As data processing speed continues to increase, the requirements for input and output devices are also getting higher and higher.
