东北、内蒙古重点国有林区是我国重要的商品材生产基地,是维护我国东北、华北地区农牧业稳产高产的天然屏障。在保障国家生态安全、应对气候变化、维护国家木材生产安全等方面具有不可替代的作用,战略地位极其重要。在成功实施天然林保护工程一期的基础上,从2011年开始,林区进入天然林保护工程二期。
The key state-owned forest regions in the northeast and Inner Mongolia are important commodity production bases in China and a natural barrier to maintain a stable and high yield of agriculture and animal husbandry in northeast and north China. It plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring national ecological security, coping with climate change and safeguarding national timber production safety. The strategic position is of utmost importance. Based on the successful implementation of the first phase of natural forest protection project, starting from 2011, the forest area has entered the second phase of natural forest protection project.
