习仲勋(1913.10.15-2002.5.24),陕西富平人,陕甘边区革命根据地的主要创建者和领导者之一,国务院前副总理,中国共产党第十一届中央委员会书记处书记,第十二届中央政治局委员、书记处书记,第五、第七届全国人民代表大会常务委员会副委员长。1978年到1980年,曾任广东省委第一书记、省长,是最早向中央提出在广东设立经济特区设想的领导人之一。
Xi Zhongxun (1913.10.15-2002.5.24), one of the founders and leaders of the revolutionary base areas of Fuping, Shaanxi and Gansu Border Region, the former vice premier of the State Council, the secretary of the Secretariat of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the twelfth Member of the Central Political Bureau, secretary of the Secretariat, and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fifth and Seventh National People’s Congress. From 1978 to 1980, he was the first secretary and governor of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee. He was one of the earliest leaders who proposed to the Central Government the idea of establishing a special economic zone in Guangdong.
