泾惠灌区是我省主要粮棉产区之一,粮田面积约占耕地的60%,全部复种,主产小麦、玉米.粮食产量多数年份小麦高于玉米,一般小麦亩产400—500斤,玉米300—400斤.1965—1972年的8年中,代表一般条件的泾阳三渠公社,有5年的小麦产量高于玉米,平均小麦亩产405斤,玉米378斤;条件较好的泾干公社在同期内有6年的小麦产量高于玉米,平均小麦亩产473斤,玉米399斤.1973年泾惠灌区的玉米产量获得了较好的收成,不仅较1972年的玉米
