著名画家王永因车祸伤愈后只能以轮椅代步。虽然他的画很值钱,但他从来不卖,只送给朋友或慈善机构。王永的住宅是一幢五层楼高的独立洋房,为了方便,他安装了专用电梯。正好近来他的弟弟王远失业,王永就叫他来做助手,还可照顾自己的起居生活,兄弟俩相处得不错。有一天,王永的同学林方来探望他。林方也是一个坐轮椅的人,他这次带来了慈善机关的朱先生,准备与王永再商讨是否可以捐助一家医院的事情。
