1985年4月25日,李时珍研究会在湖北蕲春县成立。全国8个省市自治区的学者38人参加了会议。李时珍研究会是在全国各地有志于李时珍研究的专家、学者的一致要求下成立的。研究会选出理事25人,常务理事会由李今庸、潘吉星、周一谋、郎需才等11人组成。会长由李今庸教授担任,副会长由潘吉星教授、宋翠莲(蕲春县副县长)等担任。
April 25, 1985, Li Shizhen research will be established in Hunchun County, Hubei Province. Thirty-eight scholars from eight provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country attended the conference. Li Shizhen Research Association was founded on the unanimous request of experts and scholars who are interested in studying Li Shizhen throughout the country. The council elected 25 directors and the executive council consisted of 11 members including Li Jinyong, Pan Jixing, Zhou Moumou and Lang Shicai. The president is served by Professor Li Jinyong, vice president Professor Pan Jixing, Song Cuilian (Qichun County Deputy Mayor) and so on.
