湖北省三个地带的棕色石灰土的ba值和Ki值自南至北渐增,土壤铁的游离度则从南到北渐减,粘土矿物组成中除含水云母、高岭石外,自南而北还依次出现过渡矿物、蛭石、蒙脱石,反映一定的地带性特征。紫色土是残留紫色砂页岩母质特性的特殊类型,Ki值较大,粘土矿物以水云母为主,土壤富含钾和镁,土壤盐基饱和度和阳离子交换量较高。土壤 pH、石灰反应、ba 值、铁游离度、交换性H和Al含量等可作为紫色土三个亚类的分类诊断指标。

Purple soil is a special type of residual purple sandstone parent material with large Ki value. The clay minerals are dominated by hydromica. The soil is rich in potassium and magnesium, and the soil base saturation and cation exchange rate are high. Soil pH, lime reaction, ba value, iron freeness, exchangeable H and Al content can be used as diagnostic indicators for the classification of three sub-categories of purple soil.
