Susan Sontag is a celebrated critic and novelist in the American literary world. Her thinking of the self is hidden in the novels with complicated metaphors. The “Dream” of the protagonist Hippolytus of “the Lord of the Lord” has certain uniqueness. The text is interpreted through the ritualization of Hippolyte’s “Dream” with a view to clarifying Sontag’s metaphorical approach to real life Thinking.
