本文对美国并行计算机公司生产的以并行处理技术为基础的32位高性能通用超级小型P-E3230计算机的硬件系统、软件系统及应用于测井资料数字处理的专用软件功能做了较全面的介绍。由于该型机供实时、交互处理、数据处理及远程通信应用,在处理能力、系统容量扩展上较完整,同时外围智能控制器的引入使系统结构灵活、紧凑,兼有小型机和大型机两者的优点。故目前国内大部分油田测井公司计算中心都配有并行计算机公司生产的P-E3200系列超级小型计算机做为测井资料数字处理的专用机。
