北京奥组委主席刘淇曾经表示“志愿者的微笑是北京最好的名片”。北京申奥成功后,奥运志愿服务问题开始引起人们的关注。据悉,2008年北京奥运会预计向全球招募志愿者10万人,届时,将有一个庞大的志愿大军服务于北京奥运会,保证奥运会的圆满举行。自20世纪80年代以来,历届奥运会都动员了数万志愿者来保证奥运的正常举行。如果对志愿者资源善加利用,奥运志愿服务可能会取得意想不到的效果,那就是借助于奥运志愿服务的契机,提高人们对志愿服务的认知、推动大家的志愿精神与志愿行动和本国志愿服务的发展。从目前来说,虽然奥运志愿者服务还有许多亟待健全的方面,他山之石可以攻玉,中国可以借鉴他国的成功经验,进一步完善志愿服务相关的法律法规,激励与推动中国志愿服务的发展。例如,建立志愿者的登记注册制度和志愿服务时间的记录制度;在大学开设志愿服务方面的课程,将志愿活动作为学生寒暑假社会实践的重要组成部分等。2008年北京奥运会将以“人文奥运”为契机,建一支规模大、参与广、代表性强、服务水平高的志愿者队伍,倡导志愿精神,创新服务形式,丰富服务内容,提升服务水平,体现“人文奥运”理念。
