1945年4月30日,苏军第150师和第171师抵达象征“第三帝国”的柏林国会大厦。面对负隅顽抗的德军,苏军集中了B-4榴弹炮、SU-152自行火炮和BM-31型喀秋莎火箭炮等共计89门火炮,对国会大厦进行了长达三十分钟的炮击,国会大厦的墙面顿时变得千疮百孔,外围工事瞬间土崩瓦解。下午14时25分,苏联三个步兵营冲进国会大厦,经过近乎疯狂的近战,到18时,红军战士叶戈罗夫中士和坎塔里亚下士在国会大厦主楼圆顶上升起了红旗。
On April 30, 1945, the 150th and 171st Soviet troops arrived at the Reichstag in Berlin, symbolizing “the Third Reich.” In the face of the desperate Germans, the Soviet army concentrated a total of 89 artillery pieces, including the B-4 howitzer, SU-152 self-propelled artillery and BM-31 Katyusha rocket artillery, and conducted a 30-minute shelling of the parliament building. The walls of the building suddenly become riddled with holes, the outer fortifications instantly fall apart. At 1425 hours three Soviet infantry battalions burst into the Capitol and, after almost crazy melee, by 1800 Sergeant Yegorov and Cantalian Corps of the Red Army raised the red flag above the dome of the main building of the Capitol .
