This essay is aimed at testing how power gaze affects the two protagonists, Scobie and Brodie, in The Heart of The Matter and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by putting them in the theory of Foucault’s power gaze. The analysis clearly shows that two protagonists, as the gazers, exercise their power to have control over others in a quite different way, however, as the gazed,both protagonist have the same result and become the victims of power gaze.
