杨景贤是多民族文化乳汁交融哺育出的代表性作家、蒙古族第一位戏剧家,也是元末明初最多产、最重要的剧作家之一。他的代表作杂剧《西游记》是唐僧取经故事的集大成者和里程碑,对小说《西游记》的形成有重要影响;他是杂剧艺术创新的开拓者,在戏剧艺术表现形式等方面多有创新。研究杨景贤及其作品不但对蒙古族文学史、中国戏曲史和小说史具有重要意义,而且对了解中华各民族文化的交流融合具有重要意义。
Yang Jingxian is a representative writer who is nurtured by the multi-ethnic culture, and is the first Mongolian dramatist. He is also one of the most prolific and most important dramatists in the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty. His representative drama “Journey to the West” is a masterpiece and milestone of the Tang monk’s storytelling, which has an important influence on the formation of the novel Journey to the West. He is a pioneer in the creative arts of dramas and has many innovations in dramatic artistic forms. Studying Yang Jingxian and his works is of great significance not only for Mongolian literary history, Chinese opera history and novel history, but also for understanding the exchange and fusion of Chinese national cultures.
