无轨设备使用的不断增多已对采矿工程师提出了难题。柴油动力设备虽具有灵活的优点,但却会增加通风费用,而且为保持其良好性能必须精心维护。电动设备可降低通风费用,电动机和控制系统的结构比较简单,价格低廉,但灵活性受限制。关键问题在于扩大电动设备的运行范围。一些无轨设备厂家已经或正在发展一种类似目前已使露天矿深感兴趣的辅助架线系统。除了环境的不同之外,两者的主要差别在于露天矿使用辅助架线系统是为了车辆爬坡和主要是节省燃油消耗,而在地下矿可用于任何地点,其目的是保持灵活性又不提高通风能源费用。
The increasing use of trackless equipment has posed a challenge to mining engineers.
