吉农甜椒是利用原三道筋青椒群体中发生的自然变异,经多代系统分离选择而育成。1984年经吉林省农作物审定委员会审定准予在全省各地推广。该品种植株生长势强,果实大,肉厚,果面光滑深绿色有光泽,味甜脆,商品性好,抗病毒病较强等优点。丰产性也好,平均比当地主栽品种可增产30%以上,一般栽培条件下亩产量可达1750~4000公斤。该品种经几年来在省内大面积示范种植,表现良好,深受欢迎。
