2011年7月1日,孙春龙辞去《瞭望东方周刊》总编助理职务,将全部时间投入“老兵回家”的民间公益行动。孙春龙的公益行为替国家做了一件必须完成的事业——不能遗忘这些对国族作过卓著贡献的军人。本刊在2011年第七期《独家特稿》专栏刊载了孙春龙撰写的《老兵,我带你回家》一文。老兵精神不死,唯恐独在异乡。悲天悯人,接老兵返乡,让乡愁落叶归根,作最后的告别。佛家救人一命,胜造七级浮屠;在人世搭救老兵,积德行善更胜一筹。
