Beloussov and Khain specifically studied geological and geophysical data on seafloor structures in a textbook on tectonics. In this paper, we use geologic, seismic, geoelectric, and geomagnetic data to describe some of the deep tectonic belts of the seafloor structure and lithosphere. Geological and geophysical evidence shows that there is no essential difference in crustal structure between the mainland and the oceans, and therefore there is no basis for the delineation of a particular type of marine crust.
