By evaluating several parameters that reflect cardiac function, the authors studied the effect of rhizome extracts of Nardostachys jatamansi on the state of antioxidants in the heart and the protection of the heart during doxorubicin-induced myocardial disease in rats. Male Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups of 6 in each group. The first group was the control group; the second group was ip doxorubicin 15 mg/kg; the third group was only given oral ethanol extract 500 mg/kg.
