截止2002年6月底,中国外债余额为1691.1亿美元(不包括香港特区、澳门特区和台湾地区对外负债),比上年末减少10.0亿美元,下降0.6%。其中:中长期外债余额为1173.1亿美元,比上年末减少22.2亿美元,占外债余额的69.4%,所占比例与上年末基本持平;短期外债余额为518.0亿美元,比上年末增加12.2亿美元,占外债余额的30.6%,所占比例与上年末基本持平。我国各项外债指标均在国际安全线以内。2002年1—6月,我国新借入外债247.6亿美元,偿还外债本金323.8亿美元,贸易信贷增加30.9亿美元,汇率差及调整因素使外债增加35.3亿美元。在1691.1亿美元外债余额中,登记外债余额为1444.1亿美元,贸易信贷余额为247.0亿
As of the end of June 2002, the balance of foreign debts in China stood at 169.1 billion U.S. dollars (excluding the external liabilities in Hong Kong, Macao SAR and Taiwan), a drop of 1.0 billion U.S. dollars or 0.6% over the previous year. Of which, the balance of middle and long-term foreign debts was 117.31 billion U.S. dollars, a decrease of 2.22 billion U.S. dollars over the previous year and 69.4 percent of the balance of foreign debts, accounting for almost the same proportion as the previous year; the balance of short-term foreign debts was 51.8 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.22 billion U.S. dollars over the previous year , Accounting for 30.6% of the balance of the foreign debts, accounting for the same proportion as the end of last year. All our external debt indicators are within the international security thread. From January to June 2002, China newly borrowed 24.76 billion U.S. dollars in foreign debts, repaid 32.88 billion U.S. dollars in foreign debt, 3.09 billion U.S. dollars in trade credits, and increased foreign exchange debt by 3.53 billion U.S. dollars. Out of the balance of foreign investment of 169.1 billion U.S. dollars, the balance of registered foreign debts amounted to 144.41 billion U.S. dollars and the trade credit balance was 24.7 billion yuan
