开发岩盐资源不受自然条件影响,产量稳定,比生产海盐具有投资省、耗能低、效益好、周期短和占地少的优点。但长期以来我国原盐生产结构中岩盐、井盐所占比重过小,目前也仅占18％左右,全国丰富的岩盐资源一直未能充分开发,其实在70年代国际上岩盐产量就已占原盐总产量的2/3。近年来,由于沿海盐田受滩涂养殖业的冲击已显萎缩之势,为内地岩盐资源开发提供了机遇。现就湖北岩盐资源加以分析。
