The Chinese natural medicine R. sinensis is made from the underground part of the plant Rhodiola quadrifida and has the functions of hemostasis, antitussive and nourishing. It is commonly used as a skin liniment for the treatment of burns and contusions. n-Hexyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) with a pressure-increasing effect was isolated from this plant; it was dried in roots from Rehmannia glutinosa LIBOSH Var.purpurea MAKINO
