The P16 gene is a multiple tumor suppressor gene (MTS1) reported in April 1994. P16 protein directly inhibits cycle-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4), which blocks cell cycle progression and inhibits cancer cell growth. To investigate the relationship between the inactivation of P16 gene and the occurrence and development of related tumors, we studied the patients with cutaneous malignant tumors and used microdissection-polymerase chain reaction.
