本文作者徐远举即小说《红岩》、电影《烈火中永生》中的国民党特务头子徐鹏飞的原型。 徐远举，湖北大冶人，黄埔军校七期生。１９３２年加入军统前身复兴社，渐得戴笠的赏识。抗战期间任军统西昌站站长、成都经济检查大队大队长等职，抗战胜利后任军统北方区区长、晋升为少将，又任西南长官公署二处处长兼军统西南特区区长。１９４９年１２月，在昆明被起火警察抓捕。１９５０年我西南公安部将徐远举、沈醉等人提解到重庆战犯管理所关押，地点恰是解放前关押革命志士的白公馆监狱。徐犯被判死缓。１９５６年徐远举等被首批解送北京功德林战犯管理处服刑。１９７２年初，徐远举病死于北京秦城监狱。 本文系“徐鹏飞”服刑期间所写。
