3月9日,骆家辉被美国总统奥巴马正式提名为新任美国驻中国大使。一旦获国会参议院确认,骆家辉将成为美国历史上首位华裔驻华大使,于4月走马上任。提到美国商务部长骆家辉,几乎街头巷尾尽人皆知。他不仅是继劳工部长赵小兰、能源部长朱棣文之后奥巴马政府的第三位华裔部长,更曾是美国历史上第一位的华裔州长。许多人甚至期盼,这位华裔大使的到来,或将迅速缓解中美贸易摩擦以及人民币汇率等争端。但是作为一名不会讲普通话的华裔,骆家辉表示:“我是百分之百的美国人,我只代表美国人的利益。”
