Xu Heyi, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Economic Commission, said recently that the Beijing municipal government will vigorously develop international joint ventures and cooperation projects in the pharmaceutical industry so as to achieve an average annual increase of 30% in the pharmaceutical industry and become the target of the pillar industries in Beijing before 2005. Beijing will strictly abide by international rules and practices and adopt measures such as preferential rent rent, investment follow-up, management improvement and service enhancement to create a good investment environment for multinational pharmaceutical companies to jointly invest and cooperate in Beijing.
