In mid-September, the Chinese Patent Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization held the “Patent Cooperation Treaty and China” International Symposium in the capital Beijing. At this international symposium, China formally submitted its application for participation in the Patent Cooperation Treaty and became a new member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty. According to the Plenum of the Patents Cooperation Treaty held in Geneva in September 1992, after China joined the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Chinese Patent Office, as the receiving office for the international application of the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the international archival filing unit of the Patent Cooperation Treaty and the international preliminary examination authority, Chinese can be used as the official working language of the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
