This article introduces the Bani Walid municipal infrastructure improvement project in Libya. The paper briefly describes some problems involved in the reconstruction of the old road network in Libya from the aspect of road crosswise and crosswise design, canalization design at intersections, measures to stabilize the traffic flow, with special emphasis on the importance of flexible application of technical standards in the reconstruction of old urban road networks . The article also introduces some of the characteristics of Libya’s urban roads that are different from those of Chinese cities.
