由新加坡国立大学主办的“汉学研究之回顾与前瞻”国际研讨会于1991年6月18日至21曰在新加坡国立大学隆重举行。这是一次规模空前的学术盛会.与会学者来自亚洲、美洲、欧洲、澳洲的44个城市,总共逾300人。提交会议宣读的学术论文达130多篇,许多蜚声国际的汉学权威应邀莅会,其中除东道国外,以中国大陆、台湾省和香港地区的学者最多。中国大陆应邀到会的学者有:任继愈、匡亚明、张岱年、徐中玉、谭家健、吴晓铃、汤志钧、李学勤、罗宗强、方克立、张立文、龚克昌、冯其庸、严家灸、乐黛云、袁行霈、张寿康、詹伯慧、周伟民、林英、蒋风、邓云乡、毛佩琦、冯增铨、隗芾、关小林、宗廷虎等近30位,中国国家教委社会科学司及艺术教育司副司长杨瑞森、国际合作司副处长赵升元也参加了会议。
The International Symposium on “Review and Prospect of Sinological Studies” sponsored by the National University of Singapore was held at the National University of Singapore on June 18-21, 1991. This is an unprecedented academic event with scholars from 44 cities in Asia, the Americas, Europe and Australia, for a total of more than 300 people. More than 130 academic papers have been submitted to the conference. Many famous international sinology authorities were invited to attend the conference. Among them, the largest number of scholars were Chinese mainland, Taiwan Province and Hong Kong except the host country. Chinese scholars invited to attend the conference include: Ren Jiyu, Kuang Yaming, Zhang Dainian, Xu Zhongyu, Tan Jiajian, Wu Xiaoling, Tang Zhijun, Li Xueqin, Luo Zongqiang, Fang Keli, Zhang Liwen, Gong Kechang, Feng Qiyong, Yan Jiaji, Le Daiyun, Yuan Xingyi, Zhang Shoukang, , Zhou Weimin, Lin Ying, Jiang Feng, Deng Yunxiang, Mao Peiqi, Feng Zengquan, Qionglai, Guan Xiaolin and Zong Tinghu and others. Yang Ruisen, deputy director of Social Science Division and art education department of China State Education Commission, deputy director of International Cooperation Division Director Zhao also participated in the meeting.
